Topic: Pronouns/ replacing the noun

Subtopic: Personal Pronouns(I, you, he, she, it, we, they), Possessive Pronouns(mine, yours, his, her, its, ours, yours, theirs)

Aim: Identify the Pronouns in a sentence.

Beginning: Start the class with a general discussion.
Ask a few general questions from the students. examples.
- What is your name?
- Where do you live?
- What does your father do?
- What does your mother do?
- Where does your friend live?
- What does your friend like?
- Which places do you like to visit?
- Which is your favorite animal?
- What do you like to eat?
- What is your favorite toy?

Write their answers on the board in the form of a table.(Singular & Plural Pronouns)

Method: Explain to them about Singular & Plural Pronouns and ask the students to tell you which word(s) should be replaced.

If students say that David should be replaced with the word she, you can give them another opportunity to provide the correct pronoun and then talk about why he is the correct replacement in this case.

Ending/Activity: 
  • Divide the class into groups.
  • Give each group a sentence the first team to write the correct pronoun on the board gets a point.
  • The group with the maximum number of points wins.

Review: Write a few sentences on the board and ask the students(one by one) to identify the pronouns in them.
